An important art collection.
Located on the Unter den Linden avenue, not far from the Berlin Opera House (Staatsoper Unter den Linden), the Deutsche Guggenheim occupies the first floor of the Deutsche Bank building. It opened its doors to the public in 1997.
The Deutsche Guggenheim hosts major exhibitions throughout the year, making it an extremely important establishment in the art world in Berlin. Its varied programme focuses on aspects of modern and contemporary art.
Managed by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, one of the family which includes the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the Deutsche Guggenheim in Berlin is an essential institution on the international art scene.
