Checkpoint Charlie - Mauermuseum
A location steeped in hearsay and legends.
From 1961 to 1990, the Checkpoint was the only point of passage between East and West Berlin. Beyond this point, American and Soviet tanks looked each other up and down and watched the comings and goings of civil servants and foreign visitors. Nowadays, a museum relates all the successful and unsuccessful attempts to cross the border from East to West.
